Texans to wear Fight Red Helmets for Philadelphia Eagles game Nov. 3 

The Houston Texans' uniforms now have a new component.

When they play the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football on Nov. 3 at NRG Stadium, the team made the announcement on Tuesday that they will be donning a new Battle Red helmet along with their Battle Red uniforms. 

 Greg Grissom, president of the Texans, said, "We're delighted to launch our new Battle Red Helmet as we continue to progress as an organisation. We've demonstrated time and time again that we're not scared to try new things, so we seized the opportunity to design an alternative helmet that will go well with our team's apparel, particularly the Battle Red jersey. We're thrilled that our supporters will soon get the chance to see the new helmet up close and personal as Training Camp gets underway. Since the beginning of the team's existence, the Texans have matched all of their uniforms with Deep Steel Blue helmets. 

The NFL's revised uniform code allows teams to wear a second helmet starting in 2022, the Texans were able to add the Battle Red halmet. The Texans' Back Together Saturday training camp session on July 30 will give fans a chance to view the Battle Red helmets in person. Later this fall, the helmets will also be sold at the Houston Texans Team Shop, and starting on July 25, they will be offered for sale online at Fanatics.com. 

 A fan will also be chosen through a contest to get one of the original Battle Red helmets. The entry form may be found here, and on Monday, July 25, "Payne & Pendergast" on SportsRadio 610 will reveal the winner. Battle Red Helmets will be available for fans to purchase this fall.
